The following data is the result of portable X-ray fluorescence (pXRF), scanning electron microscopy coupled with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM-EDS), and X-ray diffraction (XRD) analyses to geological chert samples from southern Portugal, central Portugal and southern Spain, and archaeological chert samples from the Upper Palaeolithic sequence of the archaeological site of Vale Boi (southern Portugal).

Neto Belmiro, Joana Filipa, 2026, "XRD raw data of geological chert of the Algarve basin", https://doi.org/10.57979/SDLM4E, POLEN DataHub, V1, UNF:6:vjjgQrl2Ilh/1+qEFKI0aw== [fileUNF]
This study utilised X-ray diffraction (XRD) to determine the mineral composition of 23 geological powdered samples of chert from the Algarve region. Samples were analysed using a Bruker AXS D8 Discover XRD with the Da Vinci design, equipped with a Cu Kα source operating at 40 kV and 40 mA, and a Lynxeye 1D detector. Scans were conducted from 3° to...

Polished chips of geological and archaeological samples were analysed with a variable pressure Hitachi S3700N SEM, coupled with a Quantax EDS microanalysis system at the HERCULES laboratory (University of Évora). Specifically, the Quantax system is equipped with a Bruker AXS 5010 XFlash Silicon Drift Detector, which offers a spectral resolution of...
